Welcome from Our Head of School

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Covenant Christian School — a Christian school dedicated to educating the next generation of ministry, community, and business leaders. As you explore what makes CCS unique, I encourage you to consider how you might fit in our dynamic community.

We often point to the achievements of CCS alumni – an extraordinary group of ministers, bridge builders, entrepreneurs, public servants, and leaders in nearly any field you can think of. For many, their life’s work can be traced back to strong roots in Covenant Christian School. Their stories can be linked to teachers who encouraged them, peers who applauded them, a failure from which they rebounded, and endless opportunities to ask, “What if?”

What if you joined Covenant Christian School? What might you do?

I came to CCS after serving as a faculty member and academic administrator for seventeen years at two wonderful Christian schools. I am struck by three characteristics that CCS is most proud of: academic excellence delivered by gifted and versatile faculty, students who represent the brightest hope of our future, and a community grounded in Christian values with a contemporary vision.

Academic excellence is expressed in our challenging and innovative curriculum. Through the use of blended classrooms and individualized instruction, teachers meet students where they are, then push them further than they ever thought possible. Our teachers have a combined Christian school experience of nearly 130 years of classroom instruction! CCS is blessed to have a talented, dedicated faculty, devoted to teaching and connecting with students well beyond the classroom walls. You can count on our faculty to create a warm and supportive Christian community.

Students arrive eager to share and refine their talents and skills. Just as important, we encourage CCS students to explore areas they previously might not have considered. Covenant Christian School students, faculty, and alumni share a calling: to serve and lead for the glory of God. The most important aspect of CCS – what ultimately attracted me to this extraordinary place — is the shared commitment to establish high principles and to establish and environment of continuous learning and innovation. This is a place of tradition and strongly held values, and also a place that will not be satisfied with yesterday’s successes. I hope that you will take the time to learn about this remarkable school – and that you will consider joining us at CCS.

Covenant Christian School revolves around establishing, developing, fostering, and furthering relationships. At the very core of our School lies the student-teacher relationship which is built on mentorship, modeling, expectation setting, support, and guidance. Through these relationships, students are transformed and teachers find purpose and meaning in their work. And, as an Apostolic Pentecostal school, we hold our relationship with God as paramount – one which has guided our past and present leaders and our practices.

Our history is built on relationships and this is certainly true of our remarkable alumni. Since coming to CCS I’ve met numerous members of our alumni. They have shared that, in addition to the impact of the faculty and staff, their peers played an important role in helping “raise one another”. And over and over they have confidently expressed how their walk with God and understanding of His Word was solidified in their experience at CCS.

We are not standing still.

Sincerely,

Pastor Rob Akers
Principal

School Scripture

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Isiah 59:21
